The magazine began on December 9, 2006 with the title "Comic Sylph". It was a special issue of Dengeki Comic Gao!, and was published on a quarterly basis. With the release of the sixth issue (released on March 21, 2008) the magazine became a special issue of Dengeki Daioh. On May 22, 2008 the magazine's title was changed to "Sylph", and its publication was turned to bi-monthly.
